Palapa-D was an Indonesian geostationary correspondences satellite which was worked by Indosat Ooredoo. It was worked by Thales Alenia Space, in view of the Spacebus-4000B3 satellite transport, and conveys 35 C-band and 5 Ku-band transponders. It was situated in geostationary circle at a longitude of 113° East, where it will supplant the Palapa-C2 satellite.
Indosat requested Palapa-D from Thales Alenia Space on 2 July 2007 The satellite was worked without utilizing American parts, and was hence not confined by U.S. Worldwide Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which permitted the China Great Wall Industry Corporation to be chosen as a send off help provider
