Lunch break: Brathwaite’s ton gives West Indies upper hand
Brathwaite stonewalled Pakistan’s bowling to amass his fifth Test ton and spur the visitors into lead. He also received good support from Bishoo as the duo stitched a stand of 51 for the 8th wicket. Both Brathwaite and Bishoo survived a couple of chances, but they were largely untroubled. Mohammad Amir took the only wicket to fall when he dismissed Jason Holder.
West Indies already have a lead of 33 runs. They would aim to get a lead of around 100 to putPakistanunder immense pressure.

Mohammad Nawaz could have picked up the scalp of both Brathwaite and Bishoo in one over, but it wasn’t to be. Initially, Sarfraz Ahmed put down a sharp chance off Brathwaite and then Bishoo swept straight to the FSL fielder, but the ball rebounded off his hands and hit the grille. As a result, the catch was declared dead and the on-field umpire’s decision was reversed.
